Everybody knows that the most beneficial foods we can eat are whole grains, lean meats along with healthy fats. These are the food items that will give us the energy and protein we need. They keep the body nutritionally balanced with minimal calories while we work hard to reduce our fat at the gym. Did you know however that some of the diet foods you’ve been eating may have been hindering your ability to lose weight? They could even be making you gain additional pounds! Here are some of the foods that you may be eating which are hurting your efforts to lose weight.
You are not actually helped by Sports Drinks. You’ve possibly been thinking that the sports drink is the best way to help your system feel much better after a workout. Most doctors will let you know, though, that if your training isn’t going to go over ninety minutes then you should be fine just by drinking water. Sports drinks could absolutely challenge your diet because they are filled to the brim with sugar, empty calories and artificial colors and flavors. Try drinking some chocolate milk as a substitute. Your body uses the sugar in the chocolate for muscle repair and everyone knows how good milk is for you.
Protein Shakes are not your friend. Lots of people believe that protein shakes may be used instead of meals and to curb cravings between meals. The truth is that when you are already eating a balanced diet all the protein shake really does is overburden your system with protein. No matter what other people believe, protein is not stashed in the muscles, it is stored in your body as fat. This means that when you have taken in too much protein during the day your body stores what it doesn’t need in your fat, which won’t help you lose weight or inches at all.
Pre-packaged deli meat seriously isn’t very nutritious at all. It’s typically considered that a sandwich constructed of whole grain bread as well as lean pre-packaged deli meat is a pretty good lunch time item. The real truth is that pre-packaged deli meat has a lot of preservatives and will provide you with about a third of your advised sodium intake for the day. This could be specifically risky if you are at risk for heart disease. Instead of buying the pre-packaged products, you need to instead use home cooked poultry or freshly sliced meat from your grocery store’s deli counter. Sure these are generally a lot more expensive options but they are tremendously healthier for you.
There are plenty of things that we think are healthier than others like choosing a whole wheat bagel each morning when the truth is that a bowl of cinnamon sprinkled oatmeal is a much healthier choice. Ask a medical expert which items are the most effective to eat and then follow the directions you are given. If you are careful about what you eat and are good to your body, losing weight probably won’t be all that big an issue.
