So you wish to slim down. You can find lots of great information and possibly you already have a diet plan in mind. Slimming down by adhering to a diet and exercising can be hard, so it comes as no surprise to hear that people resort to very dangerous ways of losing weight. Most usually, women are using these drastic methods as they feel pressured into being thin by society. Our society presses women into being thin so they frequently choose these unsafe weight loss methods. Everyone wishes to be at their best weight, but when you imperil your overall health in your pursuit to lose weight, you run the hazard of becoming ill. Today I share some information that will shed light on these unsafe methods.
The most usual drastic diet plan is starvation; not consuming much food at all, resulting in your energy levels dropping. This normally involves not eating breakfast or lunch and often both of these meals. In your head, you repeatedly say to yourself that you don’t want any food while at the same time your tummy is practically screaming at you to feed it. Your body is wise, however, and it is able to conform. As you eat less and less, your body becomes worried that it won’t be provided food so your metabolism slackens drastically to preserve energy, meaning you will burn off less fat throughout the day. Regrettably, once you begin to eat a typical diet again, your metabolism will continue to work slowly, and you are likely to quickly put on more fat as you won’t burn calories quick enough. Although you lose weight when you starve yourself, you do not lose as much as you can by following a good diet and exercise plan. Isn’t it better to eat food, be healthy and lose more weight?
Starving yourself can often result in anorexia. You have a dread of food and turning obese, resulting in becoming hazardously thin and not eating much, if anything at all. Anorexia causes you to develop a weak immune system and can eventually cause death. Young people usually experiment with starvation diets but, alas, when you become hooked on starving yourself, you can become anorexic and do permanent damage to your health.
Bulimia is another unsafe weight loss method. Bulimic people regularly throw up after bingeing on huge amounts of food so that the calories will not add weight to their bodies. They are not afraid of food as anorexics do, but they feel guilty after binging on large amounts of food and so they throw it back up. Binge-eating syndrome is tough to identify because bulimic people usually maintain the same basic body weight. Vomiting your food is hard on your body. It can have bad consequences on your heart, liver and kidneys. You may get stomach ulcers as a result of the constant puking. Your esophagus could be harmed by the stomach acid and your teeth might lose their enamel. Acid bites and there’s no exception when it comes to your throat. You can gravely damage your body by vomiting your food.
My suggestion is to eat, but eat sensibly. Keep the less healthy food out of your diet as much as possible and eat smaller food portions. It is possible to truly slim down without trying such risky methods.
